Legendary radio personality and TV star Dineo Ranaka is making her return to the airwaves to host Metro FM’s weekend show “The Saturday Top 30”.
Ranaka had previously hosted “The Bridge” on Metro FM and exited the station in 2022 after four years at the station. The seasoned radio host moved to Kaya FM but left the station in 2023.
Since, leaving Kaya 959, Ranaka has been away from radio.
Ranaka takes over from Khanya “Kyeezi” Siyengo, who has been with the station since 2022. Listeners can still hear Kyeezi on Good Hope FM. "It’s been my pleasure and privilege to have you with me on Saturday mornings, thank you @metrofmsa for trusting me," wrote Kyeezi on Instagram.
Also joining the station is renowned DJ and Radio host, Siyabulela "Supta" Sithole, to host “Midnight with a Smile”, Mondays to Fridays, between 00:00am to 03:00am.
Supta, after 11 years, hung up his mic at youth radio station Y, formerly known as YFM. His last day was on March 20 on the station.
SABC newsreader, Paulette Neo Kaise, joins “The Best Morning Breakfast Show” and “The Touchdown” to provide daily traffic updates.
Kaise takes over from legendary traffic reporter, Rob Byrne, popularly known as Rob Beezy, who leaves Metro FM after 13 years. The station also bids farewell to Nthabeleng ‘Mat Elle’ Matela.
“We’re excited to introduce a refreshed line-up that blends familiar faces with fresh talent, enhancing our current offering with new perspectives,” said Metro FM Business Manager, Kina Nhlengethwa.
Most of the weekday flagship shows, at the SABC’s largest commercial radio station, remain the same on the new 2025/26 line-up with no major shake-ups.
