It looks like the streets of social media have been hard at work again, and this time, all eyes are on the "Real Housewives of Durban" star Annie Mthembu and her husband, Kgolo "Daguru" Mthembu.

The couple, known for their luxe lifestyle, is now making headlines for an entirely different reason -financial woes and alleged cracks in their marriage.

It all started when social media "detectives" noticed that Kgolo was selling items on Facebook Marketplace. The same man who was once running Durban’s hottest clubs is now allegedly offloading second-hand furniture online.

Blogger @saneleknosi took to X (formerly Twitter) to spill the tea, claiming that Daguru was liquidating assets to recover from business setbacks.

Naturally, Mzansi had thoughts. From shock to speculation, people didn’t hold back in discussing what this could mean for the couple’s finances—and their marriage.

Annie and Kgolo’s love story started in 2016 when she worked as his personal assistant. In 2021, they tied the knot in a glamorous wedding that had soft life written all over it. Despite the whispers of trouble, Annie has always been vocal about her love and commitment.

In April 2023, she marked their second wedding anniversary with a heartfelt message, celebrating their bond. But it seems that just a year later, things have taken a turn.

In February last  year, Kgolo himself admitted that the past year had been rough, describing what he called "spiritual attacks" that put a strain on his family.

“Everyday I’m grateful for breathing and seeing my family. No money in the world can buy a life back,” he wrote in a post that now seems to hit differently.

At the same time, rumours of financial struggles began swirling. Sources claimed that Daguru’s once-booming nightclub business had taken a hit, forcing him to hand over operations to a friend. By the time his name popped up on Facebook Marketplace, the gossip mill was in full swing.

With business challenges, alleged money struggles, and now whispers of Annie and Kgolo going their separate ways, many are wondering if this is the beginning of the end.

So far, neither has come forward to confirm or deny the breakup rumours.
