Fashion lovers, get ready for a treat this November as Cape Town will become the epicenter of African style and creativity with the arrival of Confections x Collections.

This will be a five-day fashion extravaganza set to showcase some of the continent’s most talented slow fashion designers.

This fashion event spotlights the continent's most accomplished slow fashion designers.

This is a celebration of Africa’s rich sartorial diversity. From November 5th to 9th, the city will play host to a series of events that spotlight both emerging and established designers. You’ll get a chance to see incredible work from the following designers:

•Lukhanyo Mdingi: A LVMH Prize winner whose designs blend artisanal techniques with a modern twist.

•RICH MNISI: Known for his bold interpretations of Tsonga culture.

•Bubu Ogisi: The creative mind behind IAMISIGO, who brings ancient African textiles into contemporary fashion.

•Adeju Thompson: The designer from Lagos Space Programme who explores Yoruba culture through innovative designs.

Each day of the event will focus on one designer, offering an intimate look at their unique creations.

In addition to the runway highlights, CxC will also offer a special treat for your taste buds. Expect a reimagined afternoon tea experience featuring custom confections inspired by the showcased designs.

Executive Sous Chef Vicky Gurovich will craft these treats, which will be paired with a unique tea blend created by Mingwei Tsai of Nigiro. This blend celebrates South Africa’s rich botanical heritage with flavours like rooibos, honeybush, and apple.

The event will wrap up with a grand showcase that brings together both past and present CxC designers. This final evening will feature a mix of standout names including Viviers Studio, Chulaap, Wanda Lephoto, Mantsho by Palesa Mokubung, MmusoMaxwell, and Maxhosa Africa.

CxC isn’t just about fashion, it’s about celebrating the incredible talent coming out of Africa and offering a platform for diverse and sustainable fashion storytelling.

As Jackie May, one of the organizers, adds: “We’re excited to bring together South Africa’s new wave of designers with our West African counterparts.

“CxC is all about excellence in sustainable design and diverse fashion narratives.”
