British singer-songwriter JP Cooper is set to return to South Africa next month.
As part of his 2024 World Tour, the musician, whose full name is John Paul Cooper, will perform in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
His Durban show will be held at The Playhouse Theatre on November 28.
But the “The Only Reason” hitmaker has announced changes to his concerts in the Mother City and Joburg.
He will now be performing at The Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town on November 27, instead of at The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on November 30. Craig Lucas has also been confirmed as the opening act.
In the City of Gold, he will still be performing at Marks Park Sports Club but the concert will now take place on November 30, instead of December 1. New Zealand musician Jordan Rakei has also been announced as Cooper’s opening act.
Tickets for all the concerts are currently available through Webtickets and via breakoutevents.co.za.
Cooper, who performed in South Africa in August last year, is looking forward to the shows and in a statement, he said that he feels “privileged” to be back in the country.
“The love I felt last time and the support you guys have shown my music has blown me away.”
“I’ve seen some of the most impassioned and real responses to my music there.”
He added that the concert would be one of the biggest headline performances he had ever done.
“I’ll be playing songs from my forthcoming album as well as favourites from my past releases. I can’t wait to see you guys out there.”
Cooper released his latest single “Diamonds and Gold”, on September 6, which is a heartfelt dedication to his wife as it expresses how beauty can emerge unexpectedly.
This track is the second single from his upcoming third album.
With over 850 million streams for “September Song” alone and a career that includes co-writing Jonas Blue’s hit “Perfect Strangers”, Cooper has become renowned for his soulful music.
The Manchester-born artist has earned over 6 billion streams worldwide and has sold more than 1.5 million albums.
