Tribeca Festival curators have called on film-makers from around the globe to submit their work for consideration for next year’s festival.

The 24th edition will take place in New York City from June 4 to 15, 2025.

This year, the festival saw a record-breaking 13 000 submissions for more than 145 000 attendees.

The festival showcased some of the best in TV, games, audio storytelling, talks and films with several world premières, including “In the Arena: Serena Williams”, “Brats, Sacramento” and “Presumed Innocent”.

Last year, local film-maker Tebogo Malope premiered “Rise: The Siya Kolisi Story” at the festival.

Building on the success of the 23rd festival, Tribeca has now opened the call for emerging film-makers and artists to premiere their projects and grow their careers.

Jane Rosenthal, Tribeca CEO and co-founder said: “For over two decades, Tribeca has supported thousands of emerging and under-represented artists, many of whom have gone on to become critically acclaimed, award-winning film-makers.”

“As the industry evolves, Tribeca constantly seeks ways to make it more accessible to artists from all backgrounds, communities and disciplines.”

Meanwhile, next year will also see the launch of the Creators Forum, a dynamic, multi-day summit taking place within the festival.

It will feature conversations with industry leaders, round-table conversations, case studies and networking opportunities, among others.

“The first-ever Creators Forum will do what Tribeca does best—facilitate connections, provide mentorship, offer creative support, and, hopefully, shift the trajectory of someone’s career,” said Rosenthal.

Also, for the first time, film-makers with work in post-production can submit to preview their project for an invitation-only industry audience at the Festival, through the Creators Market’s “Works-in-Progress” showcase.

Cara Cusumano, festival director and SVP of programming said: “Whether you have work that’s in production, already online, or just a great pitch waiting for the right audience, Tribeca is a launching pad for what comes next.

“With the Tribeca Creators Forum and our new submission opportunities for works in progress and short films, we are excited to widen the aperture even further to ensure that Tribeca is as inclusive as possible of creators at every stage of their project and their career.
