It's easy. Tone down all the frilly concept car bits, plonk it onto a smaller set of 'tekkies' and you have a good idea of how the factory model will look.
In this instance, we're talking about the forthcoming Peugeot 2008, which is a crossover version of the new 208 hatch and a relatively early entrant into a segment in which the Kia Soul and Nissan Juke have been gobbling most of the sales pie until now.
The 2008 will most certainly be a global car and the company readily admits that engineers and stylists from Europe, China and South America have collaborated on it.
Peugeot describes its 2008 Concept as “a small vehicle combining agility, compactness, versatility and a striking style for young-minded city dwellers who love the city, while also loving to escape from it.”
Just don't expect it to be much of an off-roader.
THREE-CYLINDER TURBO
This concept marks the introduction of a brand new 3-cylinder turbopetrol engine that will no doubt reach its way across Peugeot's entire compact car range in the not-too-distant future.
The lightweight 1.2-litre motor boasts direct fuel injection and a turbocharger, which translates into a not-too-shabby power output of 82kW.
Just like Ford's new 1-litre Ecoboost engine, this three-cylinder will keep lawmakers happy by taking a chunk out of Peugeot's fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures.
Only thing is, Peugeot's brochures could end up looking a little clumsy if they call it the 2013 2008.
