A man was killed in an alleged home invasion in Chatsworth in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to ALS Paramedics, they responded to reports of a home invasion on Silverglen Drive in Chatsworth, South of Durban.
"Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS already in attendance and were guided into a house where they found two patients who had sustained gunshot wounds," said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
"One man believed to be in his forties had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his chest and unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene."
Jamieson said a second man, believed to be in his sixties, had sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body and was in a critical condition.
"Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize the man on scene before rushing him to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he required."
He said at this stage the events leading up to the shooting were not clear.
"However SAPS was in attendance and will be investigating further."
