David Bedingham burst onto the international scene in spectacular fashion in his first year of Test cricket for the Proteas.

The Western Province middle-order batter brought a fresh energy, and was rewarded with the Cricket SA Test Player of the Year award.

Bedingham has found the going much tougher in his second season, but is confident that it has only made him stronger both as a cricketer and an individual.

The former Wynberg Boys’ High prodigy is this week’s premier guest on the Indy Sport Show, with Bedingham providing insight into his development.

He speaks excitedly about walking out in the Members Pavilion at Lord’s, when the Proteas face Australia in the ICC World Test Championship final in London in June.

He is hoping his vast experience with Durham in the English County Championship will work in his favour when he comes up against the likes of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

Equally, he also talks about his maiden Betway SA20 season with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, and what it was like playing in front of the famed “Orange Army” down at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.
