WHILE MI Cape Town's opening batters, Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen, have taken the spotlight, the bowling pair of Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult has been equally impressive.

The two have the ability to bowl express pace but also have the knack to bowl cutters in big moments of the game, a set of qualities that has propelled MI Cape Town to finish top of the standings in the group stage of the ongoing SA20 season.

The two quicks will come into play Tuesday night in Gqeberha, as they face the Paarl Royals in the first qualifier at St George's Park. The fast bowlers will take comfort in that four of the five matches that have been played in Gqeberha have been won by teams bowling second.

MI Cape Town themselves beat the defending champions bowling second with Delano Potgieter taking a five-for under lights in Gqeberha.

This makes the toss a crucial part of the match, especially for a side with such a strong pace attack as MI Cape Town, they will most likely be looking to bowl under lights.

On the other hand, while South African conditions are synonymous with pace and bounce, St George's Park is also one of the grounds around the country that tend to offer slow, low and at times spin-friendly conditions.

This characteristic could give the Paarl Royals an advantage, considering the form that their spin attack has been in throughout the tournament. Led by Bjorn Fortuin, alongside Afghanistan international Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage, the Royals have a formidable spin trio.

Even on the bench, the Royals have enough spin arsenal to cause serious damage with South Africa's Nqaba Peter patiently waiting for an opportunity.

Being the coach of the St. George's Park-based Warriors in domestic cricket, Robin Peterson who's also MI Cape Town's head coach will know these conditions well and will make the best possible decision to get his team over the line.

However, the Royals' head coach, Shane Bond, has enough experience around the world to lead the Royals past tonight's challenge.
