Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sammy Seabi has signed with Polokwane City, according to reports on Wednesday.
iDiski Times reported that the 29-year-old has rejoined his former club on a one-year deal.
Starting out his career, Seabi made a name for himself when he joined Polokwane in 2016. He spent three years with the team while he racked up 79 appearances and scored four goals.
His time with Polokwane prompted a move to the mighty Sundowns in 2019. However, he battled to find his way into the starting team at the juggernauts of South African football. In the season he spent at Sundowns, he made just five appearances.

Though he was by no means a prominent fixture in the Sundowns team, he was part of the squad which won the League title in 2019/2020, Nedbank Cup and Telkom Knockout in 2019.
The next year he was loaned out to Moroka Swallows where he made 18 appearances. Again, he moved on this time to Chippa United before finally settling on Sekhukhune United in 2022. There he made 20 appearances and got his name onto the scoresheet once.
Now, Seabi is going back to where it all started for him and he will hope to call Polokwane home for at least a few seasons. It’s believed Seabi has already begun training with Polokwane.
Quite ironically for Seabi, Polokwane are next in Betway Premiership action against Sundowns as they host the champions on October 27 at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Polokwane have made a good start to their new league campaign, as they currently occupy fifth spot on the log with two wins, a draw and one defeat.
