To kick of the new year, popular social messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced four new features that it will be rolling out to users across the world.
"We’re always working on making WhatsApp easier to use and more fun, so we’re excited to kick off the new year with a variety of new features and design improvements," WhatsApp said.
Here is a closer look at the four features:
Camera effects
According to WhatsApp, users loved the effects that were launched on video calls last year. The effects like filters were were designed to create a more playful atmosphere while backgrounds can keep surroundings private.
Now, when users take and send a video or photo in their chats, they can choose from the same 30 backgrounds, filters and effects to transform their videos and photos.
Selfie stickers
For fans of custom stickers, WhatsApp will now allow users to turn their selfie straight into a sticker.
To create the stickers: tap the sticker on create sticker and see the camera option to take a selfie and create the sticker. This new feature is available on Android and will be coming to iOS soon.
Share a sticker pack
WhatsApp users that see a sticker pack they know a friend will love can now easily share a sticker pack directly in their chats.
Quicker reactions
According to the social messaging platform, users can now double tap a message to react and quickly scroll through their most used reactions.
WhatsApp said that they are looking forward to introducing more exciting features this year, while offering private, secure messaging to users wherever you are in the world.
