Bloemfontein - Three people have been arrested after they were found in possession of copper pipes worth over R50 000, Free State police said on Monday.
Welkom Flying Squad officers stopped and searched a bakkie around 4am and found copper pipes and gas cylinders, Captain Stephen Thakeng said in a statement.
The three occupants could not provide documentation explaining why they had the pipes. They would face charges of possession of suspected stolen property in the Welkom Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
