Bloemfontein - Human skeletal remains found in a small town in the Free State province have been analysed by forensic anthropolgists and identified as those of a woman.
In a statement on Thursday, police spokesperson Mamello Mokhuoane said a woman discovered the bones near Courtland's farm in Hennenman in October, 2013 and immediately informed police.
The remains were sent for forensic analysis.
Mokhuoane said the Welkom Local Criminal Record Centre worked with anthropologists from various universities to "estimate a biological profile". "
A facial compilation of the skeletal remains was constructed using the biological profile".
It's believed the woman was aged between 17 and 27 when she died.
Police are appealing to relatives to come forward with information and contact Hennenman police at 057 573 9100 or the crime stop number at 08600 10111.
