Johannesburg - Three men and two women, aged between 24 and 34, were arrested and drugs valued at R150,000 were confiscated during a raid at their block of flats in Bloemfontein, Free State police said on Monday.
Spokesperson Captain Chaka Marope said the raid took place on Saturday in Zastron Street in Bloemfontein.
“The place was under police surveillance for some months. It was identified as storage for the stolen properties and hideout for the wanted criminals,” said Marope.
Marope said upon searching the premises, the operating team discovered crack cocaine valued at R60 000 and Tik estimated at R90 000 hidden under a bed.
“Three Nigerian nationals and two South African women were arrested.”
Marope said R20 000 in cash was also confiscated.
The five are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of dealing in drugs.
