Free State - Police in the Maokeng township, Kroonstad, were looking for the family or friends of an elderly woman who was found dead in a water canal, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
“The woman’s body was found inside a water canal near Marabastad on Friday 29 May 2015 at around 10am,” Sergeant Thabo Litabe said.
“She is medium build, about 1, 6 meters tall, light skinned, does not have teeth and has black and grey hair.”
Litabe said the woman, approximately 60 years old, was suspected to have fallen into the canal either on Thursday night or on Friday morning. She was wearing a red skirt with a white long sleeve jersey and was bare feet.
Any person who might know a woman matching the description was asked to call detectives at Maokeng.
