Bloemfontein - Peter Frederiksen, the Bloemfontein man who was arrested last month after police found 21 pieces of female genitalia in a freezer at his house, abandoned his bail application in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning.

The 63-year-old Frederiksen’s charge sheet was also amended and now includes three charges of assault with the intent to grievous bodily harm (GBH), one charge of assault GBH involving a minor, the possession and manufacturing of child pornography, the removal of human tissue in contravention of the Health Act and bigamy.

It is believed that Frederiksen was advised to abandon his bail application as the Department of Home Affairs was currently in the process of cancelling his permanent South African residency.

According to the department, Frederiksen apparently acquired his citizenship fraudulently. If he was granted bail he would have been deported. The cancellation process is expected to be concluded by Monday afternoon.

Frederiksen is apparently also a wanted man in his native Denmark after he allegedly fled the country before serving a six-month sentence in connection with the illegal possession of a firearm.

The accused allegedly also married his current wife, a woman from Lesotho, while he was still married to a woman from Denmark.

The woman from Lesotho apparently alerted police to the collection of female genitalia in his freezer. The bigamy charge is believed to stem from this fact.

A large contingent of ANC Woman's League members gathered in court on Monday, and verbally attacked Frederikson, calling him a monster, a killer and a “Laksman” (executioner).

When the court adjourned for a few minutes, ANCWL regional chairperson Mapaseka Nkoane shouted at Frederiksen to “come and cut them as well”.

His case was remanded to December 7 for further investigation.
