Kroonstad - A security guard died after a shooting incident at a shopping mall in Kroonstad, Free State, paramedics said.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the shooting occurred on Monday and the exact details of the shooting would remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the ground with a gunshot to the head.”
Botha said paramedics tried to stabilise the man on the scene before transporting him to a local hospital for the specialised care that he required.
The man died soon after arriving at the hospital.
Kroonstad police confirmed that the shooting took place at the Pick n Pay at around 5pm and the investigation was being handled by their detectives.
