Free State - Police said on Thursday they were looking for suspects who allegedly attacked and shot at a Bangladeshi national, in Phase 9, Bloemspruit.
Constable Peter Kareli said the incident happened on Wednesday.
“A Bangladeshi man went to visit his friend at the shop…before he could even climb out of the vehicle, he was approached by five armed men running towards him,” Kareli said.
He said that when the man realised that his life was in danger, he pulled the vehicle back in reverse. The suspects fired seven shots at him but he escaped injury.
The motive for the shooting was not known.
