Free State - The fiancee of a man murdered alongside a Dutch Reformed Church minister in Harrismith last year, faces theft charges after allegedly withdrawing cash from his bank account after his death, it was reported on Friday.
Thea Brits had already appeared in court twice on a theft charge laid by Gerhard Vermeulen's family, and would appear in court again on February 8, reported Beeld.
She allegedly withdrew R1000 from Vermeulen's bank account the evening after he and her father Willem Brits, were murdered, said Sergeant Mmako Mophiring
Brits and Vermeulen were attacked with an axe, then shot dead in November, allegedly by Thea's brother, Martin, 28, and Elliot Mhlambi, 41, who had spent time in jail with Martin.
Thea's mother, Dorothea, 59, sustained serious head injuries in the attack, and is still in a Bloemfontein hospital.
According to the newspaper, Martin Brits and Mhlambi were expected appear in court on Friday on charges of murder and attempted murder.
