Bloemfontein - A Boshoff man accused of raping his two daughters appeared in the Bloemfontein Sexual Offences Court on Wednesday.

The matter was postponed to Tuesday, Free State National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Phaladi Shuping said.

“The case was postponed because a certificate from the director of public prosecutions was requested to allow the case to be centralised,” Shuping said.

This was because the matter fell under the jurisdiction of both the Free State and the Northern Cape.

The 55-year-old man faces two counts of raping his daughters, now aged 26 and 21. He allegedly started raping the older daughter in 2002 and her sister in 2007. This allegedly continued until his arrest in September.

The matter came to the attention of the police when the elder daughter reported it to a community leader.
