Harrismith, Free State -

A truck driver was killed on Thursday afternoon when his vehicle overturned on the R74 near Harrismith in Free State, paramedics said.

The cause of the accident was not clear, Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.

Wicks said the truck, which was carrying meat, skidded to a halt on the carriageway, blocking the road. The driver was trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene. - Sapa
