Bloemfontein - Water restrictions will be in place for two Bloemfontein suburbs over the weekend, the Mangaung metro announced on Friday.
“High-lying areas will be affected, particularly Heuwilsig and Pentagon Park,” spokesman Qondile Khedama said.
The restrictions were due to repairs to a low-lift pump at the Maselspoort water works.
“We have reduced water supply from 65 megaliters to 45 megaliters and as a result high-lying areas will be affected,” said Khedama.
Residents in the two suburbs were asked to use water sparingly and avoid watering gardens, filling swimming pools, and using garden irrigation systems until the situation normalised, possibly by Monday.
Khedama said excessive use of water might lead to a total shutdown. - Sapa
